That may have turned red from aging, being billions of years older than our sun.
Looking at it another way a unnatural phenomena causing the appearance a bit different

The moons per say are not seen to have been captured and kept in orbit by it planets.
But they do flip a bit in their orbit no moons other than the proximity of planets
Which may bare on its orbit keeping a dark side cold, other side desert or shangra-la
A lost theory always exist was the red sun caused by weapons testing of long ago
