Slow Banana Boat.

Bringing to port new fruit
On the sea the morning after
Leaving port grinning green tailored suit
The cargo carried fruit & laughter
The green song sang sadly
But song and taste will change
Things went right recalled madly
To a dish of golden flakes
A dish of tasty ice cream
Pies and pies from ovens baked
Counting sheep and fruit in dreamed
But when the banana boat
Comes to destined port and call
Empty the cargo hold the Stewart wrote
The little was is now cold due the fall
So in space and time you note the worth
The sun goes on the vines to follow
The rich poor drink eat from the earth
For some only the day last tomorrow very same
But for the sun follows the green banana boat adrift
Around the world little puns worldly told remain
Fruit to make all seem bad to good given to gifts
Relinquishing only the empty tree going on to sea
Never bet the can down way
All friends dignity now gone by me
But none know more than those been known
Praying for greener things and dreams of thee.
