The men that came back.

 As a child I grew up in the shadow of a man 

Who married my mother when I was very young

They were from the same area of midtown New York City

He meaning my stepfather He served with General Pattons army

At the battle of the Bulge in France as did his father who served

In the U.S Army in France the previous war and both soldiers

Became casualties in battle and returned home to die later of its injuries

One died later from the lengthy pain brought by mustard gas poisoning 

The other later from cancer with the many wounds from that war

This is where I come in but it was earlier said,

They in the military were witnessing or were, “ Foo Fighters”

Later the catch phrase was UFO,s out of unidentified flying mentions

Than the Soldiers that in part couldn’t raise their heads above their trenches
